Our history

A 20-year history of running a successful company, 20 years of unstoppable innovations – this is what Petermann GmbH represents. With the courage to pursue future-oriented developments and a variety of patented solutions, the company today has become a visionary in the rehabilitation and nursing care market.

After the development and production of initially hydraulic and later on battery operated as well as mechanical bath lifters, Petermann GmbH has been offering repositioning and transfer aids for nursing facilities and home-based care since 1995.

Today, Petermann is one of the leading manufacturers of small aids for patient transfer and nursing care worldwide.

At their locations in Watzerath in Rhineland-Palatine and Dombühl in Franconia, almost twenty employees continuously work on the advancement and optimization of caregiving aids and transfer systems, including complete caregiving concepts.

Petermann utilizes ideas, knowledge and modern production engineering to implement customer demands for highest quality for optimum safety in caregiving.

During daily workshops and seminars, the professional advisory staff at Petermann conveys their knowledge about how to provide daily caregiving in a back-friendly manner to nursing staff employed by nursing homes or home health care services.

It is Petermann's goal to contribute to an greater quality of life for patients and nursing staff with every innovation that supports caregiving, and at the same time contribute to a functional healthcare system at the same time – now and in the future.
